GIJoe Action Figures for sale

Most of us refer to Scarlett as Shana O'Hara, a girl born in Atlanta, Georgia (which is canon if you consider the USA version to be canon...), but did you know that Scarlett was released in many countries? And in many of those countries, she wasn't even born in Atlanta. Many of those international figures also came with some variation over the american version. This is what the first section, The International Scarlett, will concentrate on.

The second section, International Scarlett Look-alike, will concentrate on the fact that Scarlett was used as a base for some other characters internationaly that we don't know much around here, the most famous is Quarrel in the UK, but did you know about Glenda, helicopter co-pilot? How about Athena? Read on and learn about Scarlett in an International way...

The one that started it all. This was the first ever version of Scarlett ever released. This is Shana O'Hara, she's from Atlanta, Georgia, and she's definitely the first one that should pop up in your mind when you think of Scarlett. All other international figures in this section will be compared to this American version.

Hasbro Canada released the first version of Scarlett with a filecard reflecting some local colors (Like many of the earlier filecards in Canada). Based on the Canadian Filecard, Shana O'Hara is born in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The figure itself is the exact same as the american version.

In Australia during the 80s, GIJoe figures were repackaged by an Australian toy company (Toltoys) and sold as Action Man action figures. The figure is the exact same as the american version, but packaging is different.

Quriken is a Mexican toy company who started to produce GIJoe figures in 1985 under the logo Commandos Heroicos. The packaging was their trademark, instead of being packed on blister card, the figures were sold in boxes with window through which you could see the figure. It's interesting to note that even if the Mexican Scarlett was actually Scarlett (sold as Oficial De Inteligencia, Nombre Clave: Scarlett), Quriken used the molds from the Brazilian company Estrela, so small differences seen in Brazilian figures could also be found on mexican figures, and it's the case here as the suit of Scarlett is more of a whitish tone than tan (Athena, the Brazilian look-alike of Scarlett, had a whiter suit than the tan american Scarlett).

Hasbro licensed the rights of GIJoe to a local toy company in Argentina: Plastirama. The argentinian version of Scarlett looks like it's the same as the american version, but lacks any date stamp anywhere on the figure.

Many belive that Quarrel is the UK Scarlett. The UK had their own Scarlett when in 1985 the Action Force range (which started in 1982) realigned with a new unified team called simply 'Action Force' and a new enemy 'Cobra' instead of the 'red shadows'. The new figures were all of American origin, including 'Scarlett' (She wasn't called Quarrel, it was Scarlett), although some UK vehicles did survive into this range. The UK Scarlett is born in Bruges, Belgium. Remember that the UK Scarlett is not Quarrel, see the next section called "Scarlett look-alike" to learn more about Quarrel.

Hasbro did a late release in Japan. They released 24 figures in 1986, packaging them in attractive colors cardbacks, packing the Joes on blue theme cardbacks and the Cobra on red theme cardbacks. Scarlett is the exact same version as the american one, except that she comes on a blue japanese cardback.
